Job summary

CMC provides an excellent opportunity to join our team delivering construction materials across the region from our Austin area hubs. You will handle loading and unloading, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain accurate paperwork while following all safety requirements.

We expect a strong CDL A driver with at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience, ability to pass DOT testing, and good communication. Training is provided, and you’ll operate with modern safety devices and PPE.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required to drive heavy trucks.
• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience.
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing.
• Strong verbal communication and English comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Complete delivery paperwork and communicate load or timing issues with dispatch, sales, and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip, intra-trip, and post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
• Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Inventory and inspect products to confirm quantity and condition.
• Load, secure, and deliver cargo safely and on time.
• Maintain vehicle service and repair logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Operate vehicles using ELDs and safety dashcams (training provided).
• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, sideboard kits, and safe ascents/descents.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation per regulations.
• Work flexible hours and be available based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

• Perform loading tasks including chaining, strapping, tarping, trailer hooking/unhooking, use ofsideboardkitsand safely ascending/descending of truck and/or trailer
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe, compliant transportation per federal and state safety regulations
• Work flexible hoursand be available based on business needs

What You’ll Need

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• At least 1 year of verified tractor-trailer experience (3 years flatbed OTR preferred)
• No more than one moving violation in the past three years
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills
• Ability to speak and understand English language in verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while giving and receiving feedback
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
• Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to changing requirements
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs/ladders, works with chains/strap, performs inspections

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
