Job summary

Jacam Catalyst is seeking a DOT Program Coordinator to assist the Manager of DOT and Fleet Programs in ensuring DOT compliance. The role involves extensive travel (about 80%), working with regulated and non-regulated drivers to train, educate, and promote safe driving practices.

You will be in front of drivers, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions. Key duties include coaching on inspections, delivering classroom DOT training, and handling ELD installation and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSA & PHMSA regulations.
• Knowledge of medium and heavy duty truck components.
• Specialized training in DOT/state and federal regulations and safety preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager of DOT and Fleet Programs to ensure DOT compliance.
• Train, educate and encourage in compliance and safe driving behavior.
• Coach and mentor drivers in Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections.
• Install, remove, train, and troubleshoot ELD equipment.
• Deliver formal DOT training in classroom settings.

Job description

As a DOT Program Coordinator at Jacam Catalyst, you will be responsible for assisting the Manager of DOT and Fleet Programs in ensuring compliance with DOT and related rules. This position will be expected to travel approximately 80% of the time. Primary interaction will be with regulated and non-regulated drivers to train, educate and encourage in compliance and safe driving behavior. This position will be in front of drivers and out in the elements primarily.

Essential functions

• Coach and mentor drivers in the completion of Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections
• Formal training in classroom setting over various DOT topics
• Formal training in classroom setting for non-regulated drivers over safe driving behavior topicsCommentary, evaluation and Road Test drives
• ELD installation, removal, training and troubleshooting
• Decision Driving training
• Safety Management System digital documentation of training, coaching, inspections, etc.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, goggles, etc.
• Physical Abilities: Lift and carry 40 pounds in various packaging.
