This position is responsible for inspecting, filling, and loading propane cylinders for drivers and customers. The position may also require assisting in propane delivery to customer locations in a safe, efficient, and punctual manner while maintaining customer satisfaction. The incumbent must have a CDL license (Class A or B) with HAZMAT and tank endorsements or be able to obtain them promptly as determined by the manager. The ability to work independently and lift up to 75 pounds without assistance is essential. A high school diploma and at least one year of related work experience are typically required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, fill, and load cylinders.
• Handle and maintain flow of materials and products following safety guidelines.
• Scrape and paint cylinders and tanks as needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance of the service center office, plant, and yard.
• Promote safety and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Based on business needs and qualifications, the Material Handler- DOT may also be required to:
  • Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from designated locations.
  • Follow DOT safety procedures, including safety inspections of equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or responses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years old.
• One or more years of related work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Class A or B CDL license with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain them quickly.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and TSA background checks.
