STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION is offering a DOT Intern – D4 position in District Four / Transportation Operations, based in Fort Pierce, FL. This internship provides exposure to transportation, construction, maintenance, and public administration fields for enrolled students.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Actively enrolled in or accepted to an accredited university, college, or vocational/technical school for the duration of participation.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge, skills and experience in the Transportation Industry while assisting across departments.
• Engage in research, support initiatives, and interact with executives, team leaders, project managers, and interns.
• Participate in team projects and contribute to agency goals and change initiatives.
• Review, learn general knowledge, and perform technical tasks within one of several focus tracks (Engineering, Transportation, Self-Designed).
• Explore Engineering track topics such as Roadway Design, Structures, and Geomatics; Transportation track topics include Program Management and Safety.
