Job summary

The State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking a DOT Intern – D3 for District 3 in Chipley, FL. This open competitive, part-time internship offers $15 per hour for 20 hours per week and provides hands-on IT support experience in a government setting.

The intern will assist with PC user support, basic troubleshooting, equipment replacement/reconfiguration, and AV/VC setup. Applicants must be US citizens or authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not

This position will assist with providing computer support for District 3 offices.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Assists with providing user support for personal computers (PC) and peripheral equipment.

Assists with performing basic troubleshooting to resolve support tickets.

Assists with replacing or reconfiguring existing computers or other equipment as needed.

Assists with reserving, setting up, and troubleshooting of Audio Visual (AV) and Video Conference (VC) equipment.

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • basic computer software, hardware, and firmware relative to personal computers

Ability to:

  • install and provide technical support for software applications and operating systems
  • communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • read, understand, and comply with the department's policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification supporting citizenship or authority to work for the duration of program participation.
  • Participants are required to comply with all statutes and rules and the Department’s policies, procedures, regulations, and Code of Ethics.
