The Work You Will Do:

D7 Training and Performance Management Transportation Associate / Executive Direction/Transportation Support / Organizational Development Office An intern in Organizational Development at D7 Florida Department of Transportation will play a meaningful, hands‑on role in strengthening workforce learning, leadership development, and talent acquisition across the agency. They will assist in designing and updating employee training materials, participant guides, job aids, and presentations that directly support FDOT’s mission of developing a highly skilled workforce. The intern will help coordinate and deliver key Organizational Development programs, workshops, and leadership initiatives that enhance employee engagement and performance. They will also create communications and promotional content—such as flyers, newsletters, email announcements, and SharePoint or Teams posts—to ensure employees stay informed and connected to learning opportunities. In addition, the intern will conduct research on organizational development, leadership, employee engagement, and workplace performance to support evidence‑based program improvements. Their role will extend to talent acquisition by supporting career fairs, college outreach, and recruiting events, preparing materials, engaging prospective applicants, and organizing follow‑up information. Collectively, these responsibilities provide FDOT with valuable support in developing its workforce, strengthening leadership pipelines, and enhancing recruitment efforts, while giving the intern meaningful professional experience in organizational development and public‑sector talent management.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design, development, and update of employee training materials, participant guides, job aids, presentations, and other learning resources.

  • Create and update communications and promotional materials for training programs, including flyers, newsletters, email announcements, and SharePoint or Teams content.

  • Support career fairs, college and university outreach, recruiting events, and other talent‑acquisition activities by assisting with event coordination, preparing recruitment materials, engaging with prospective applicants, and organizing follow‑up information.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification supporting citizenship or authority to work for the duration of program participation.
  • Participants are required to comply with all statutes and rules and the Department’s policies, procedures, regulations, and Code of Ethics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: You will be required to provide your Social Security Number to conduct required verifications.
