Job summary

Total Safety U.S. Inc. is seeking a DOT Driver to operate a commercial truck and various trailers, delivering equipment and supplies to job sites and customers.

You will follow DOT regulations, complete required paperwork, and assist with loading and unloading while maintaining safety and equipment readiness. The role requires at least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience, a valid CDL with HazMat endorsement, and a current DOT medical card.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last 3 years.
  • Valid DOT medical examiner's certificate with at least 3 months before expiration.
  • Satisfactory FMCSR driving record and company policy compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a commercial truck and various trailers to pick up, haul and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations.
  • Complete DOT and company-required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and weekly inspections on non-DOT trucks and trailers.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or excessive wear and report findings.
  • Assist with stocking, loading, staging, and delivering customer orders; keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Comply with DOT regulations including logs, inspections, and documentation; perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.

Description

Total Safety is looking for aDOT Driver to join their safety conscious team! The DOT Driver drives a commercial truck and a variety of trailers to pick up, haul and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations. Cross trained in air work, gas detection, and rescue services. Complies with current DOT regulations.

Refers to the safety and operations checklists of steps to be followed for each trailer type to be pulled and follows checklist before each haul. Completes DOT and company-required documentation.

Provides timely delivery and pick-up to and from designated customer locations.

When picking up equipment, inspect for damage and/or excessive wear and note accordingly.

Complies with current DOT regulations including but not limited to timely qualification renewals, equipment and cargo security inspections, electronic logging devices, and other required transport documentation.

Completes all documentation associated with delivery and pickup in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer so that proper invoicing and documentation can be provided to customer.

Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.

Performs pre-trip, post-trip, and ad-hoc equipment inspections as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) on all commercial motor vehicles and trailers.

Performs weekly inspections on all non-DOT assigned trucks and trailers to ensure that all required safety and preventative maintenance measures have been executed and documented.

Assists others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging, and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.

Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Servicing customers and/or company owned electronics and respiratory equipment.

Assists others as needed. May need to perform emergency roadside repairs.

Skills and Experience:

Must possess at least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last three (3) years; a valid DOT medical examiners certificate with a minimum of 3 months prior to expiration; be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving the company truck; and a satisfactory driving record meeting all requirements of the FMCSR and company policies.

Minimum of manufacturer field level training and certification in respiratory and instrumentation. Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Commercial driver's license per requirements of facility class A, B, or C with HAZMAT endorsement. Must comply with current DOT regulations. Must pass internal forklift training and certification.

Shop, yard, traffic, and customer environments. May be frequently exposed to wet, humid weather conditions and vibration. Shop, plants, highway traffic, and road debris.

High pressure, chemicals, shop traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
