Job summary

Total Safety U.S. Inc. seeks a DOT Driver to join our safety-conscious team.

You will operate a commercial truck and trailers, handle pickup and delivery to job sites and customers, and comply with DOT regulations. The role involves cross-training in air work, gas detection, and rescue services while maintaining documentation and safety standards. Requirements include 12 months of verifiable DOT driving in the last 3 years, a valid DOT medical certificate, and a CDL with Hazmat endorsement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last 3 years.
  • A valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate with at least 3 months before expiration.
  • Be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving the company truck.
  • Commercial driver’s license per facility requirements (A, B, or C) with Hazmat endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety and operations checklists for each trailer type and complete required documentation.
  • Provide timely delivery and pickup to and from designated customer locations.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or wear and note issues.
  • Comply with DOT regulations including renewals, inspections, and ELD requirements.
  • Complete documentation for delivery and pickup with customer signatures for invoicing.
  • Perform basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by FMCSR.
  • Assist in stocking shelves and loading/unloading orders as needed.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Service customers and equipment; assist with emergency roadside repairs.

Job description

Total Safety is looking for a DOT Driver to join their safety conscious team! The DOT Driver drives a commercial truck and a variety of trailers to pick up, haul and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations. Cross trained in air work, gas detection, and rescue services. Complies with current DOT regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Follow safety and operations checklists for each trailer type and complete required documentation.
  • Provide timely delivery and pick‑up to and from designated customer locations.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or excessive wear when picking up and note any issues.
  • Comply with current DOT regulations including qualification renewals, equipment and cargo security inspections, electronic logging devices, and other required transport documentation.
  • Complete all documentation associated with delivery and pickup in a timely and accurate manner and obtain customer signatures for invoicing.
  • Perform basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
  • Conduct pre‑trip, post‑trip, and ad‑hoc equipment inspections as required by FMCSR on all commercial motor vehicles and trailers.
  • Perform weekly inspections on all non‑DOT assigned trucks and trailers to ensure all required safety and preventative maintenance measures have been executed and documented.
  • Assist others in the facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested, and ready‑to‑use equipment and pulling, staging, and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
  • Maintain work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Service customers and/or company owned electronics and respiratory equipment.
  • Assist others as needed; may need to perform emergency roadside repairs.
Skills and Experience

Must possess at least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last three (3) years; a valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate with a minimum of 3 months prior to expiration; be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving the company truck; and a satisfactory driving record meeting all requirements of the FMCSR and company policies.

Minimum of manufacturer field level training and certification in respiratory and instrumentation. Valid driver’s license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Commercial driver’s license per requirements of facility class A, B, or C with HAZMAT endorsement. Must comply with current DOT regulations. Must pass internal forklift training and certification.

Work may involve shop, yard, traffic, and customer environments. May be frequently exposed to wet, humid weather conditions and vibration

High pressure, chemicals, shop traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
