Job summary

Metric Geo partners with a well-established heavy civil contractor in Southwest Missouri to recruit an experienced DOT Project Manager. This role focuses on ownership of major DOT/highway, roadway, bridge, earthwork, or transportation projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil PM, strong DOT experience, and a related degree. The position emphasizes cost/schedule control, client coordination, and proactive risk management on critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong DOT/highway/roadway experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Background in earthwork, grading, utilities, paving, bridges, or transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage DOT/heavy civil projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Take ownership of cost, schedule, quality, and profitability.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Review contracts, plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Work closely with Superintendents, estimators, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Manage relationships with DOT representatives, owners, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project financials, forecasting, billing, and gross margins.
• Identify and manage project risks, changes, and claims.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
• Assist with estimating, bidding, and preconstruction activities when required.
