Job summary

Spire Inc. is seeking a Manager, DOT Compliance to lead the company-wide DOT program within the Fleet department.

The role focuses on establishing and maintaining DOT and FMCSA compliance across the organization, coordinating efforts with HR, Environmental, Safety, Risk, and Field Operations, and ensuring timely, accurate procedures. You will drive cross-functional initiatives, develop a company DOT dashboard, lead audits and internal reviews, and oversee filings such as IFTA/IRP and MCS-150B.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Transportation, Logistics, or related field required.
• 5+ years progressive experience leading and influencing indirect resources and managing programs outside of one’s own reporting relationship.
• 5+ years of large-scale project management experience in DOT compliance, safety management, HR, or a related role.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience
• 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Extensive knowledge of project management techniques and cross-functional leadership
• Strong analytical, communication, and training skills
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations preferred
• Experience with audits and investigations; JJ Keller or similar vendor experience preferred
• Prior trucking, fleet, HR, or EHS experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a company DOT compliance program and maintain related policies.
• Monitor company-wide DOT compliance with all regulations.
• Lead cross-functional projects to identify requirements, establish timelines, resources, budgets, and measures.
• Oversee processes across internal groups for regulatory compliance (insurance, driver qualification, drug/alcohol testing, inspections, hazmat).
• Ensure DOT training, audits, filings (IFTA/IRP, UCR, MCS-150B) and recordkeeping are in place.
• Develop a companywide DOT dashboard to track compliance metrics and report to leadership.
• Partner with internal departments to implement new regulations and ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Lead cross-functional meetings and present metrics to senior leadership.
• Maintain knowledge of changes in federal/state transportation regulations
• Support resources with tools and training; handle special projects as needed
