Job summary

Wells seeks an Enterprise DOT Compliance Manager to ensure DOT and FMCSA compliance across transportation operations and plant safety programs. You will oversee driver qualifications, HOS, maintenance records, inspections, and audits, reporting to the DOT & EHS Compliance Director.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, regulatory risk mitigation, and collaboration with Safety and Operations to support company objectives while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred.
• Five years’ experience in DOT and FMCSA compliance in construction or manufacturing.
• Experience with data-based systems, learning management software, or relational databases.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local DOT regulations including FMCSA guidelines.
• Maintain driver qualification records, CDL documentation, medical certifications, and annual MVR reviews.
• Manage fleet registrations, regulatory reports, logs, and DOT filings.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing programs and oversee onboarding, training, and audits.
• Coordinate permits for oversize loads and hazardous materials transportation.
• Lead safety audits, vehicle inspections, and DOT compliance reviews.
• Prepare for DOT audits, inspections, inquiries, penalties, and violations.
• Develop driver onboarding and refresher training programs.
• Collaborate with Safety and Operations to align programs with company objectives.
