Job summary

Weisiger Group's EHS team in Charlotte, NC is hiring a DOT Compliance & Safety Specialist to support drivers and locations across our portfolio. This role owns the driver-facing side of the Fleet Driver Program, working with the Fleet Department, EHS, and Operations to keep drivers qualified, compliant and safe on the road.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience or 4+ years in fleet safety, with strong FMCSA/DOT knowledge, HOS, ELD, and drug testing; hands-on

Qualifications

• BS degree with 2+ years in fleet safety or 4+ years in DOT compliance.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, HOS, ELD and drug/alcohol testing.
• Hands-on experience with telematics and video platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage driver qualification files, onboarding, MVR reviews, and medical card and license renewals under 49 CFR Part 391.
• Review telematics and video events (Geotab) and coach drivers.
• Monitor Hours of Service, ELD accuracy, and DOT drug/alcohol program compliance.
• Build training from incident footage and conduct new-driver orientations.
• Lead incident reviews and support drivers and company in resolution.
• Produce monthly fleet safety scorecards and report trends to leadership.

I'm hiring! Our EHS team at Weisiger Group is adding a new role. We are looking for a DOT Compliance & Safety Specialist to join us at our main campus in Charlotte, NC and provide support for all drivers and locations across our portfolio.

We're a growing, safety-focused supplier of heavy equipment, diesel engines and industrial trucks, with locations across NC, SC, GA, AL and TN. This role owns the driver-facing side of our Fleet Driver Program. You'll work closely with our Fleet Department, EHS team, and Operations to keep our drivers qualified, compliant and safe on the road.

What you'll do:

• Manage driver qualification files, onboarding, MVR reviews, and medical card and license renewals under 49 CFR Part 391
• Review daily telematics and video events (Geotab), prioritize high-risk behavior and coach drivers one‑on‑one
• Monitor Hours of Service, ELD accuracy, and DOT drug and alcohol program compliance
• Build training from real incident footage, lead new-driver orientations and conduct road tests
• Lead incident reviews, secure video evidence and support drivers and the company in the resolution process.
• Produce monthly fleet safety scorecards and report trends to leadership

What we're looking for:

• A bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of experience, or 4+ years in fleet safety and DOT compliance
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, HOS, ELD and drug and alcohol testing
• Hands‑on experience with telematics and video platforms
• The ability to coach drivers with both accountability and diplomacy
• Bonus: an active CDL, NATMI or similar certification, and broader EHS experience
