Job summary

Boyd Bros. Transportation, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel tractors and trailers to ensure safe operation and DOT compliance. You will work in a fast-paced shop environment performing advanced preventive maintenance and component replacements.

Collaborate with Supervisors and Leads on complex repairs, document all work thoroughly, and adhere to safety and quality standards. Must be able to lift 75–100 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years verifiable diesel engine experience and 1 year trailer repair, preferably flatbed.
• Familiar with diagnostic tools and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-based shop.
• High school diploma or GED.

Maintenance Technician, Tractor & Trailer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support fleet maintenance operations. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment and trailers to ensure operational safety, DOT compliance, and fleet reliability.

Duties

• Diagnose and repair intermediate mechanical, electrical, and air system issues
• High paced, fast environment with expectations for quick turnaround.
• Perform advanced preventive maintenance and component replacements
• Support complex repairs in collaboration with the Supervisor and/or Lead
• Ability to work in temperatures that exceed more than 30 degrees hotter or colder than the outside temperature.
• Assist with inspection preparation and defect correction
• Utilize diagnostic tools and schematics to troubleshoot vehicle systems
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet DOT regulations and compliance standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
• Follow all safety, quality, and company maintenance standards
• Ability to lift 75-100 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years verifiable diesel engine, plus 1 year trailer repair experience, preferably flatbed
• Working knowledge of diagnostic tools and schematics
• Proficient with DOT regulations and compliance standards
• Ability to work independently and in a team-based shop environment
• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• Class B CDL preferred
