Summary of Job Duties: This position reports to the Radiation Oncology Clinic Chief Physicist and is responsible for treatment planning, calculations, quality assurance, constructing custom blocks, taking measurements, consulting with physicians and therapists, and maintaining quality control.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the MDCB or eligibility after completing an JRCERT-accredited program in Medical Dosimetry

Responsibilities:

  • Design patient treatment plans and perform dose calculations using various techniques.
  • Consult with physicians and therapists to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate to assess and improve treatments and setup techniques.
  • Share results and recommendations with supervisors.
  • Assist with patient setup procedures at treatment machines or simulators.
  • Complete records, data forms, planning documents, and billing logs.
  • Check patient charts for accuracy and documentation.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical research and quality improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
