Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Dosimetrist to join a dedicated team. The role involves creating treatment plans, dose calculations, and collaborating with the Medical Physicist to deliver precise radiation to defined targets.

Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, hold CMD certification (or within 6 months) and ARRT (T) preferred, with at least 3 years of dosimetry experience.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• CMD certification within 6 months; ARRT (T) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Medical Dosimetrist.

Responsibilities

• Devises a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver the prescribed dose to a defined tumor volume in collaboration with the medical physicist.
• Performs dose calculations and ensures complete, accurate, and timely recording of all data on all charts and forms.
• Instructs the technical staff in the implementation of the treatment plan.
• Assists in planning of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, blocks, and other beam modifying devices in collaboration with the Medical Physicist.
• Assists in the selection and evaluation of purchase requests involving radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment.
• Maintains records of daily treatment and other records as required.
• Records charges accurately for procedures performed and submits charges in the Record & Verify system.
• Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
• Observes radiation safety measures for patient and personnel.
