Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Certified Medical Dosimetrist for the Nashville, TN area to design and optimize precision radiation treatment plans under physician guidance. The role includes dose calculations, brachytherapy support, and creating immobilization devices to ensure accurate treatment delivery.

The position involves QA work with medical physicists, ongoing clinical research, and strict adherence to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience, or an equivalent technical degree.
• An associate's or technical degree is acceptable for the role.
• Certification as Medical Dosimetrist is required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design customized, precision radiation treatment plans under physician guidance.
• Perform complex dose calculations and assist with advanced brachytherapy procedures.
• Fabricate immobilization and beam-modifying devices for accurate patient positioning.
• Partner with medical physicists to perform QA calibrations on radiation equipment and support clinical research.
• Enforce strict radiation safety protocols per national guidelines.

• Fabricate custom immobilization and beam-modifying devices to guarantee accurate patient positioning and consistent treatment delivery every shift.
• Partner with medical physicists to perform quality assurance calibrations on radiation equipment and support ongoing clinical research projects.
• Enforce strict radiation safety protocols in accordance with national regulatory guidelines to protect patients, care teams, and yourself.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Certified Medical Dosimetrist obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
