Job summary

Glenmont Job Corps Center in Glenmont, NY seeks a Dorm Supervisor to oversee dorm operations and support a team of residential staff and students. You will mentor young adults, promote personal growth, and ensure a safe, tidy living space that fosters responsibility and independence.

You’ll collaborate with counselors and other departments to address student needs, enforce center policies, and maintain a positive, structured dorm community that helps students succeed during their education and

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of Job Corps experience OR related experience in youth development, residential services, education, workforce development, or a similar program.
  • Preferred Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the residential team — support, guide, and supervise staff who work directly with students in the dorms.
  • Mentor young adults — build positive relationships and encourage students toward personal, educational, and career goals.
  • Create a positive living environment — keep dorms safe, clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Teach everyday life skills — encourage responsibility, independence, good habits, communication, and confidence.
  • Help solve problems — respond to student or staff concerns calmly, fairly, and professionally.
  • Work with student support team — collaborate with counselors and departments to help students stay on track.
  • Build a strong dorm community — promote respect, teamwork, accountability, and positive relationships among students.
  • Maintain standards — conduct dorm inspections, follow policies, and ensure residential expectations are met.

Think of this role as a combination of team leader, mentor, coach, and problem-solver. You'll supervise residential staff while helping our students learn responsibility, independence, healthy habits, and the life skills they need for their future.Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 3PM-12AMDays Off: Sunday & Monday What Does a Dorm Supervisor Do?Our students live on center while completing their education and career training. The Dorm Supervisor helps make sure their residential experience is safe, structured, positive, and supportive.In this position, you will: Lead the residential team — Support, guide, and supervise staff who work directly with students in the dorms.
