The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) in Louisville (Jefferson County) has an opening for a Student Development Assistant.

This is a 2nd shift position. The hours are Sunday-Thursday 3:30pm – 11:30 pm. The role supports students with homework, living skills, and disciplinary policies while maintaining dorm safety and records. It offers benefits typical of state employment.

Formación

• High school graduate required.
• One year of experience working with individuals in a student development or education program.

Responsabilidades

• Provide supervision and instruction to students regarding homework and study assistance. Ensure safety and accountability.
• Maintain cleanliness of dorm.
• Assist students with independent living skills and conflict resolution skills. Assist with literacy programs and assist students with organization of leisure time.
• Interpret and apply school policies related to the student development program, including discipline.
• Maintain appropriate records and submit reports.
• Complete and maintain student records and reports.
• Attend necessary student meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
