AKA University City is seeking a courteous Doorperson to assist residents and guests with luggage on arrival and departure, provide security awareness, and deliver exceptional service within our luxury urban residence community.

You will greet residents and visitors, coordinate with porters when available, assist with directions, open doors, and help ensure smooth arrivals and departures while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere across the building.

AKA University City is looking for a Doorperson!

The doorperson will be taking care of the residents luggage, on arrival and departure, storage of luggage and equipment and provide an efficient and friendly service to our residents in respect of general hotel security and resident relations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome residents and visitors to the hotel.
• Greet visitors and residents on departure, wishing them a pleasant journey.
• Relieve residents of their luggage on arrival, store it and log it if a porter is not available.
• Handle all residents requests, queries, comments and complaints in a courteous and prompt manner, taking the necessary action steps and ensuring follow-through where required.
• Open cars/taxis doors arriving at the property and give help to people in need, especially old, disabled, children, and people carrying heavy loads.
• Remove all items of luggage from the vehicle of the resident and call a porter to take delivery of guest luggage into the hotel.
• Where luggage porter is unavailable, escort guest into the lobby and to the reception desk, and to deposit the luggage in the luggage room and inform the concierge.
• To call taxis for residents and visitors, to open doors as appropriate and to give directions as required.
• To direct traffic on the hotel forecourt and to ensure that the forecourt and entrance are not obstructed in any way.
• Greet and welcome residents with the appropriate greeting of the day and direct them personally into the property.
• Ensure residents satisfaction by performing such duties as attending to their requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently, and accepting changes or additions in work hours, which are necessary for the maintenance of uninterrupted service to hotel guests and patrons.
