Job summary

Rudin is seeking a doorperson to join our building services team in New York. You will warmly greet tenants and visitors, open doors, assist with bags, and guide guests to the front desk while prioritizing safety and excellent service.

The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using building management software like Yardi to manage work orders, deliveries, and key control. This is a 32BJ union position with competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist tenants and visitors in a courteous manner.

• Stay alert for safety, inspect the building, and report damages.
• Use building management software (Yardi) to enter work orders and track deliveries.

This is a 32BJ Union position.Essential FunctionsHandle cleaning products and equipment safelyLift up to 50 poundsBend, lift, go up and down stairs and/or laddersMonitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the buildingReport to work on time and remain alert for the entirety of the shiftFollow oral and written instructions and clearly communicate both verbally and in writingUtilize computer software to perform dutiesStand for extended periods of timeResponsibilitiesGreet and assist tenants and visitors in a pleasant and courteous mannerProvide assistance by opening doors, carrying bags, hailing rides and directing people to the front deskRespond to inquiries whether it be features of the building, local knowledge of the neighborhood, and questions, concerns or complaints, which may be relayed to the appropriate co-workerStay alert throughout the shift to ensure building and tenant safety: Look out for suspicious activity and regularly inspect the building for safety, patrolling all areas and reporting any damagesUse building management software, such as Yardi, to enter and track work order requests, maintain key control, confirm building and visitor information, and receive/track deliveries and packages until residents pick items upMaintenance: building maintenance, from clearing sidewalks during winters, laying down rain mats, watering plants, sweeping puddles on the exterior perimeter, mopping floors, glass cleaning and other cleaning tasks as assignedOther ad hoc duties may include relief coverage for other positionsMay be required to perform overtime as needed to address emergencies.CompensationThe compensation for this role is subject to the terms of the 2022 Apartment Building Agreement between the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations Inc. and SEIU Local 32BJ (“Contract”)The new hire rate for this position is 75% of the Contract minimumThe hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.08 - $30.78Rudin is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
