Job Overview

Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), founded in 1938, serves over 30 hospitals across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Annually, it collects over 100,000 units of blood to save lives. Located within the College of Medicine, HBC is the only university-owned regional blood center in the U.S.

The center is recruiting a full-time Assistant Field Manager to support the collection team and operations at the Blue Ash donor center. The role involves managing donor flow, staff utilization, and supporting the center’s mission to save lives.

Essential Functions

• Assist in monitoring operations to ensure quality customer service and compliance.
• Perform donation procedures adhering to regulations and SOPs.
• Serve as process improvement liaison; collect and report data; participate in quality teams.
• Demonstrate professionalism and serve as a role model for staff.
• Assist with organizational changes and staff training.
• Assign work and ensure proper workflow; serve as site supervisor in absence of the manager.
• Supervise staff as needed, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Perform other related duties as departmental needs evolve.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare management or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Seven years of relevant experience or training can substitute for education.

Certifications

Must be trained in Automation Red Cell and Automated Platelet collection.

Additional Qualifications

• One year supervisory or mentoring experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20-50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions as detailed.
