Job summary

Birmingham Promise, Inc. is seeking a Donor Relations Associate in Birmingham, AL to support donor stewardship, engagement, and fundraising campaigns. You will work closely with the Director of Development & Communications to move initiatives from idea to completion.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, accuracy in records, and coordinating communications with donors, Board members, and staff to ensure a thoughtful donor experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; can substitute nonprofit experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to build relationships with donors, Board members, and partners.
• Experience with donor databases or CRM systems; Bloomerang is a plus.
• Experience with Canva or design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support donor stewardship and development operations with accurate records.
• Process gifts, acknowledgments, and donor correspondence promptly.
• Coordinate donor meetings and timely follow-up communications.
• Prepare reports and dashboards to support fundraising strategy.
• Assist with grant development and fundraising campaigns.
• Support board relations and endowment campaign activities.
• Plan and assist development events and donor engagement activities.
• Collaborate on marketing, communications and creative materials.
