Job summary

The Division of Development and Alumni Relations at University of Miami seeks a Development Associate to support fundraising initiatives. You will work to attract, retain and grow mid-level donor support while managing a portfolio of prospects and elevating major gifts.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to research donors, craft engagement plans, and document activities in donor records, contributing to annual goals and broader university priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
• Solution-oriented; able to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Excellent command of English, with strong written and oral skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Shows initiative, sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
• Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to implement a development plan to attract, retain and increase mid-level donor support.
• Manage portfolio of mid-level prospects.
• Lead research to identify current donors with potential to increase giving.
• Elevate prospective major gift donors to philanthropy officers.
• Identify mid-level prospects from direct mail with the digital engagement team.
• Create a plan to engage and steward donors to raise giving levels.
• Identify events to cultivate major donor interest.
• Document all contacts and proposals in donor records.
