Job summary

University of Miami in Miami, FL, is seeking a Development Associate to support Medical Development at UHealth/MSOM. You will plan and execute development activities, establish donor connections, and deepen engagement to foster philanthropic gifts.

The role collaborates with the Executive Director and DAR to implement a multi-faceted plan and to cultivate mid-level and major donors, documenting all interactions in donor records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
• Must be solution-oriented and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Excellent command of English, with creativity and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic team environment.
• Discretion handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Implement a strategic development plan to attract, retain, and increase mid-level donor support.
• Manage portfolio of mid-level prospects.
• Lead research to identify current donors with elevation potential.
• Identify and elevate prospective major gift donors to philanthropy officers.
• Collaborate with giving and digital engagement teams to identify mid-level prospects.
• Create communication plan to engage and steward donors.
• Identify events to cultivate major donor interest.
• Document all contacts in donor records.
