Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Development Officer in Kentucky to manage a donor portfolio and drive annual giving goals. You will develop strategies to retain and upgrade donors, qualify prospects, and coordinate engagement through meetings, events, and communications.

The role requires 5+ years in fundraising or donor relations, strong relationship skills, and experience with donor databases and CRM systems. Local travel and some evening events are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of fundraising or donor relations experience.
• Demonstrated success managing donor relationships and meeting revenue goals.
• Experience managing a portfolio of donors through a structured relationship process.
• Ability to solicit gifts and conduct donor visits professionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of up to 150 donors and prospects with annual giving of approximately $5,000 to $25,000.
• Meet or exceed annual revenue and donor engagement goals.
• Develop strategies to retain, renew, and upgrade assigned donors and prospects.
• Qualify prospects based on philanthropic interests, giving capacity, readiness, and next steps.
• Identify opportunities for planned gifts, multi-year commitments, sponsorships, and other support.
• Create donor engagement opportunities through site visits, events, and conversations.
• Maintain regular donor contact through meetings, calls, written communication, events, and site visits.
