Downtown Emergency Services Center is seeking a strategic fundraising professional to serve as Individual Giving Coordinator, managing mid-level donors, annual fund programs, and donor relations. You will build meaningful relationships, steward donors, and drive engagement, upgrades, and recurring giving across campaigns.

The role emphasizes community-centered fundraising, equity, and accountability while collaborating with the Fund Development team to meet revenue goals and support DESC’s

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in nonprofit fundraising or related donor-facing roles.
• 2+ years' experience in professional writing, communications, or content development, with a focus on external stakeholder communications.
• Demonstrated experience managing and cultivating a donor portfolio, including direct gift solicitations.
• Excellent task, time, and project management skills with multi-tasking ability.
• Knowledge of donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and moves management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 250-300 active and prospective mid-level donors and family foundations.
• Develop and implement tailored solicitation and stewardship moves management plans.
• Conduct personal visits to solicit gifts, including mid-level and major gifts.
• Show gratitude to donors and follow DESC gift acknowledgment procedures.
• Identify donors with potential for major or planned gifts and plan cultivation.
• Build trust-based relationships aligning with Community Centric Fundraising principles.
• Communicate accurate information to DESC supporters, partners, and the public.
• Stay informed on homelessness funding issues to engage donors knowledgeably.
