Job summary

CSL Memphis is seeking a Donor Center Technician to prepare donors, donor areas and equipment for pheresis, and to monitor donors and the pheresis process. You will operate the autopheresis machine, respond to alarms, record incidents in PDA, and ensure accurate donor data while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include cross-training as needed, following SOPs, and supporting hyper-immune programs. A high school diploma and 3 months’ medical experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 months’ work experience; medical setting preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis.
  • Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
  • Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms.
  • Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
  • Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
  • Record incidents using PDA (alerts, volumes, events).
  • Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system.
  • Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
  • Ensure accurate donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
  • Understand policies for hyper-immune programs as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and supplies.
  • Maintain donor, personnel and center information confidentiality.
  • May be cross-trained in other areas.
  • Bilingual skills may be required as needed.
  • Perform job-related duties as assigned.
