Job summary

CSL in Tempe, AZ seeks qualified medical staff to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and collaborate with the Center Medical Director to ensure donor safety and appropriate referrals.

Responsibilities include reviewing tests, identifying unsuitable donors, and counseling donors on reactive results.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must be licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT.
• Minimum of one year relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma/whole blood collection centers preferred.
• Ability to perform and interpret physical assessments (heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use).

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure/certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine plasma donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor suitability questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations as required.
