Job summary

CSL is seeking qualified medical professionals to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis at a plasma center. You will interview donors, perform medical histories, and provide limited emergency care within licensure.

Collaboration with the Center Medical Director ensures donor safety and proper handling of reactive results. You will review test results and advise on continued eligibility, referring donors for follow-up when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must be licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments of heart, lungs, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and assess ongoing donor suitability.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer to facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical cases to physicians if needed.
