Job summary

Mid-America Transplant in Jonesboro, AR seeks a Family Support Coordinator to maximize organ and tissue donation through donor family interactions and hospital partner collaboration. The FSC provides 24-hour on-call availability to conduct evaluations and approaches families.

You'll work with hospital staff to ensure timely, compliant support, obtain authorization for donation, and help families navigate the donation process, while supporting MT’s mission to save lives and honor donors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• 2+ years' experience in a role utilizing evaluation and influence
• Highly attentive to detail, problem solver, and well organized
• Articulate, credible communicator with ability to establish credibility and connection
• Strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation with customer orientation

Responsibilities

• Obtains Authorization for organ and tissue donation
• Promote hospital staff development efforts that create awareness of donation obligations
• Overcomes donation barriers through pre-approach planning and effective use of resources
• Collaborates with donor hospital staff to assess family dynamics and prognosis before family approach
• Secures written authorization for donation by approaching grieving families
• Communicates with family, MT, and hospital staff to ensure awareness and alignment
• Prepares donor families attending DCD in hospital settings
• Follows up with donor families per MT protocol
