Job summary

Lifeline of Ohio is seeking a Manager of Family Services and Authorization to lead a team of Family Services Coordinators, oversee authorization practices, and enhance donor family support across its service area. The role drives quality improvements while ensuring compassionate, compliant family-centered care.

The position requires strong leadership, collaboration with hospitals, and ability to navigate complex donor conversations, with hybrid on-site, remote, and hospital-based

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field as listed in requirements.
  • 3–5 years experience in grief, loss, trauma, crisis intervention, end-of-life care, transplantation, or related healthcare services.
  • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, developing, and leading teams.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Family Services Coordinators (FSCs) and develop their performance.
  • Set expectations, accountability measures, and professional development plans.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain FSCs; foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
  • Oversee authorization practices and donor family support; coach FSCs on complex discussions.
  • Promote donor family engagement, bereavement support, and donation advocacy.
  • Monitor authorization rates, family experience outcomes, and process improvements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation accuracy per OPTN, CMS, AATB, OSHA standards.
  • Coordinate onboarding and ongoing education for FSCs; collaborate on competency development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospital partners and key stakeholders.
