Job summary

The Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley is seeking a Friends Coordinator to support donor stewardship, public programs, and communications. This role collaborates with Bancroft staff, Council, and the Library Development Office to advance engagement with donors, alumni, volunteers, and the university community.

Reporting to the Bancroft Director, the coordinator provides high-level administrative support, coordinates events, and helps manage budget and communications for the Friends of The Bancroft

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of building and maintaining relations with alumni and other constituencies.
• Strong organizational and deadline-management skills; event planning ability.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; tact and political acumen.
• Analytical thinking, sound judgment, and ability to advise management on strategic resolutions.
• Proven project management and meeting-deadline skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of the Friends Council and annual meeting, including agendas and minutes.
• Lead donor stewardship and cultivation coordination with UC Berkeley Library Development Office.
• Prepare written and visual materials for publications, newsletters, calendars, and outreach; create social media posts when needed.
• Design and support donor programs, events, and communications for Bancroft constituents.
• Collaborate with Library Development and campus partners on donor research, proposals, and prospect development.
• Assist in donor visits: scheduling, donor reports, briefing materials, and presentations.
• Ensure donor data accuracy in campus systems.
