Job summary

Trinity Health Grand Rapids Saint Mary's Foundation is seeking a Donor Engagement Officer responsible for developing and executing strategies to acquire, retain, engage, and upgrade donors. You will manage a portfolio of mid-level and recurring donors, leveraging data analytics and segmentation to grow philanthropy.

The role emphasizes donor growth through targeted appeals, digital engagement, and community fundraising initiatives, with collaboration across Foundation leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field such as event planning, public relations, communications, marketing, or advertising.
• 3–5 years of fundraising, donor engagement, marketing, sales, business development, customer relationship management, or related field.
• Experience managing projects, campaigns, or relationship portfolios with measurable outcomes.
• Experience in annual giving, mid-level giving, donor engagement, donor relations, healthcare philanthropy, or nonprofit fundraising.
• Experience utilizing donor databases, fundraising analytics, donor segmentation tools, and CRM systems.
• Experience developing donor acquisition, retention, recurring giving, or upgrade strategies.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of mid-level and recurring donors through personalized cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement strategies designed to increase donor retention and philanthropic support.
• Develops and executes donor acquisition, retention, recapture, and upgrade strategies to strengthen the Foundation's donor pipeline and increase long-term donor value.
• Utilizes donor analytics, PRIZM segmentation, giving behavior, and demographic insights to develop targeted donor engagement and fundraising strategies.
• Leads the Foundation's recurring giving program, including donor acquisition, retention, stewardship, and growth initiatives.
• Develops and manages mid-level giving strategies designed to transition qualified donors into major gift portfolios.
• Collaborates with the Sr. Director, Special Gifts and Foundation leadership to identify donors demonstrating major gift potential and facilitate donor movement through the philanthropic pipeline.
