Job summary

The Oregon Jewish Community Foundation (OJCF) seeks an experienced Director of Donor Engagement to lead donor stewardship, education, and community-building efforts. This exempt role designs and executes a comprehensive donor engagement strategy across onboarding, grantmaking, and legacy planning.

The position collaborates across the organization to enhance donor satisfaction, giving activity, and community impact, supervising the Fundholder Services Coordinator and guiding CRM use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in charitable giving, fundraising, donor relations, or related fields.
• Experience building donor or constituent relationships.
• Experience leading educational programs, events, or community initiatives.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and project management abilities.
• Experience supervising staff and managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Knowledge of donor-advised funds or endowment giving preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement donor engagement and fundholder experience strategy.
• Plan and evaluate annual donor education programs (workshops, webinars, site visits).
• Manage a portfolio of donor-advised, endowed, and supporting foundation funds.
• Oversee donor lifecycle engagement (onboarding, stewardship, recognition, legacy).
• Coordinate educational and stewardship events (content, speakers, logistics, budgeting).
• Develop marketing content promoting donor engagement and giving opportunities.
• Create donor communications, newsletters, and impact stories.
• Build relationships with fundholders through meetings and outreach.
• Identify opportunities for increased giving and community impact.
• Supervise Fundholder Services Coordinator and ensure donor service quality.
• Oversee stewardship tracking and CRM reporting to inform decisions.
• Manage relationships with supporting foundation and grantmaking funds.
• Collaborate across advancement, finance, communications, and operations.
• Represent OJCF at donor, community, and professional events.
