Job summary

Volunteers of America Chesapeake and Carolinas is seeking a Marketing Communications Coordinator to support the Development & Communications Team in Lanham, MD. The role focuses on implementing communications strategies to promote VOACC’s fundraising efforts, housing and health & human services programs, and to maximize donor engagement.

Responsibilities include hosting community events, managing the monthly e-newsletter and social media, and collaborating with vendors to create marketing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing or related field is required.
• 1–3 years of professional office experience, nonprofit preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite and Wordpress.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement communications strategies to promote fundraising campaigns, events and donor engagement.
• Manage VOACC’s monthly e-newsletter and social media for donors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external vendors to create digital and print marketing collateral.
• Publish updates to VOACC’s website, ensuring content is accurate and engaging.
• Analyze media markets to identify reporters and influencers for outreach.
• Coordinate logistics for projects and events with team members.
• Gather and write consumer stories demonstrating VOACC’s impact.
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities.
• Capture video and photography of VOACC’s consumers and staff as needed.
• Draft press releases and other articles as required.
