Job summary

VOACC is seeking a Development Manager who will report to the Executive Director of Fundraising & Development. The role supports the Development & Communications Team by implementing communications strategies that promote fundraising programs, housing, health & human services initiatives, and donor engagement.

You will host community events, manage the newsletter and social channels, work with vendors on marketing collateral, and publish timely content on VOACC's website.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing required.
• 1–3 years nonprofit office experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office 365, Adobe Suite, and WordPress.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement communications strategies to promote fundraising campaigns, events and donor engagement.
• Manage monthly e-newsletter and social media for donors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external vendors to create digital and printed marketing collateral.
• Publish updates to VOACC’s website ensuring accuracy and engagement.
• Analyze media markets to identify reporters and influencers for outreach.
• Coordinate logistics for events with the team.
• Gather and write consumer stories demonstrating VOACC’s impact.
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities.
• Occasionally capture video and photography of VOACC’s consumers and staff.
• Draft press releases and other articles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities include implementing communications strategies that promote VOACC’s fundraising efforts; housing, health & human services programs; and maximizing donor engagement. Supports the Development & Communications Team with hosting community events to grow VOACC’s presence and support base.

Responsibilities

• Implement communications strategies that promote VOACC’s fundraising campaigns, events and donor engagement
• Manage VOACC’s monthly e-newsletter and social media presence for an external audience of donors and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with VOACC’s external vendors to create digital and printed marketing collateral
• Efficiently manage and publish updates to VOACC’s website, ensuring that the content is accurate, up-to-date, and engaging for the audience.
• Analyze various media markets to identify key reporters and influencers, targeting them for media outreach efforts to maximize VOACC’s exposure and impact.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics planning, ensuring smooth execution of projects and events.
• Liaise with VOACC program staff to identify, gather and write consumer stories that demonstrate VOACC’s impact
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities, engagement levels, and progress
• Occasionally capture video and photography of VOACC’s consumers and staff as needed
• Occasionally craft compelling press releases and other articles
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a professional office setting, preferably at nonprofit
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite and Wordpress
• Strong writing, editing and proofing skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with graphic design preferred
• Experience capturing and editing video preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and open personal style
• Ability to travel when necessary to interview program consumers and staff for testimonials
