Client Nonprofit in Houston seeks a Development Operations Specialist to join the Advancement team. You will handle gift processing, donor data management, and financial reconciliations in Raiser's Edge NXT, while producing reports and dashboards for fundraising performance.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in nonprofit finance/advancement, strong Excel skills, and a service-oriented mindset with attention to detail and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, advancement services, gift processing, accounting, finance, donor relations, or related field.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge or Raiser's Edge NXT strongly preferred.
• Experience with gift processing, account reconciliation, financial reporting, or donor data management.
• Strong understanding of Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
• Experience reconciling data between a CRM/database and accounting/financial systems preferred.
• Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising operations, donor-restricted funds, or fund accounting preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional, collaborative, service-oriented approach when working with donors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with financial and donor information.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile gifts, pledges, grants, and restricted funds while ensuring accuracy and donor intent.
• Enter, maintain, track, and reconcile gift activity in Raiser's Edge NXT.
• Ensure accurate donor and gift data across Raiser's Edge NXT and accounting systems.
• Prepare financial reports, fund statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for leadership review.
• Prepare fundraising progress reports, data analysis, and dashboards to monitor fundraising and campaign performance.
• Process vendor payments, reimbursements, contracts, and other Development-related expenditures with proper documentation.
• Support gift acknowledgments, donor communications, and stewardship activities.
• Assist with gift transmittals, reporting, and resolution of discrepancies between Development and Finance.
• Collaborate with Development, Finance, and program teams to ensure accurate financial and donor information.
• Assist with audits, tax reporting, and other compliance requirements as needed.
• Maintain data integrity and accurate donor records within Raiser's Edge NXT.
• Help develop, document, and maintain SOPs for Development operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and data accuracy.
• Provide responsive support to internal teams, donors, and stakeholders.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
