Job summary

The American Red Cross in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our lifesaving blood collection team. You will engage with donors, ensure a welcoming atmosphere, and follow all safety procedures to deliver lifesaving blood to hospitals.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided; prior medical experience is helpful but not required. A starting rate of $20.81/hour applies, with opportunities for growth based on performance and experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required.
• A current, valid drivers license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights, long hours and irregular schedule changes; basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Office are required.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Ensure blood collection meets goals and regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
