Job summary

The Salvation Army in Warrenton, VA is seeking a Warehouse Worker to process donations, operate the baler and forklift, and prepare items for display. This role requires heavy lifting, careful handling of goods, and adherence to safety procedures.

You will load/unload trucks, sort donations, issue receipts, and maintain a clean, organized warehouse while following The Salvation Army policies. A valid driver’s license is preferred and prior warehouse experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years experience in sorting, receiving, storing, loading and unloading in a warehouse or store setting.

Responsibilities

• Loads and fluffs clothes in the baler machine to secure a solid bail of clothing.
• Operates forklift to transport bail to storage truck.
• Unloads trucks of donated items delivered to the warehouse.
• Receives, inspects and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items.
• Selects items suitable for store display and distributes for further sorting/pricing.
• Maintains the warehouse and dock areas to deter theft and ensure safety.
