Job summary

The Salvation Army in Hot Springs, AR is seeking a Warehouse Associate to receive, sort, price and prepare donated items for store display and salvage processing. You will operate the textile bailer, assist with packing and loading, and help keep the warehouse organized and clean.

Responsibilities include inspecting donations, sorting by category, preparing non-display items for salvage, and assisting with donation pickups as needed.

Job SummaryReceives, sorts, prices and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. Prepares donated items, not suitable for display in store, to be processed through the salvage program which includes operating, inventorying, and maintaining textile bailer.General Responsibilities (95%)Receives, inspects and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brac, etc. according to the category and condition.Selects items suitable for store display and distributes to appropriate area for further sorting and/or pricing; discards items in accordance with established procedures and continues processing discarded items through the salvage programs according to the policy.Operate textile bailer; maintain bailer in good working condition; keep inventory of items needed for bailer.Packs items in boxes and marks boxes accordingly; assists in transporting boxes to appropriate storage area.Prepares non-suitable clothes for the bailer.Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing, storage or displaying in store.Maintains warehouse area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables and work areas.Other Responsibilities (5%)May assist in answering the telephone; provides general information and records messages.Prepares receipts for donations.Drive Salvation Army vehicle for donation pickups when needed.Assist customers with loading purchases.Locking/unlocking yard gate and assisting customers with items in yard.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsAbility to meet attendance requirements.Ability to communicate the English language.Physical ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull minimum of 50lbs.Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed in combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.Ability to climb ladder.Working ConditionsWork is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.Education and Experience1 Year experience in warehouse operations.Certifications/LicensesValid State Driver's License.Equal Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
