Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a Donation Services Driver to consistently acquire donations through our pickup program. You will represent Goodwill by assisting donors, sorting and packing donations, and providing receipts.

You will maintain records and ensure donations are transported safely to designated locations. The role requires one year of driving experience, a clean driving history, and a high school diploma or GED.

Job Summary

To safeguard donations by sorting and packing them in proper receptacles and onto the trucks. To offer donors excellent customer service and donation receipts for their items. To maintain records of the number of donations received and locations of internal drop-offs.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Exhibit a high level of customer service awareness, including being courteous and appreciative to all donors, calling when in route, providing donation receipts, and greeting donors.
• Carry, sort, pack, and load donations as designated by Donation Services leadership.
• To handle all donations with care assuring the highest potential of utility.
• Decline donations graciously when appropriate.
• To effectively communication Goodwill's mission to donors
• To complete pre-trip inspections, daily donation tracking and other reports as required in an accurate and timely manner.
• Transport and deliver donated items to assigned retail store. Assist store in the unloading of these items.
• Provide guidance and leadership to the helper.
• Uphold the safety of the work areas and trucks by following company policies and procedures.
• Follow all rules and regulations of the road including local, state, and federal laws.
• Provide prompt accurate feedback to supervisor on any obstacles, concerns or violations of company policies.
• Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
• Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill's attendance policy.
• Being flexible with the ability to work Community and Fundraising Donation Drives on Saturdays.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills

Education

• High School diploma or GED. (5 years of positive experience as a Mover or certification in a like field may be substituted.)

Experience

• One year of previous driving experience required.
• One year clean driving history.

Certifications and Licenses

• Class D driver's license

Knowledge and Skills

• Able to comply with the Department of Transportation requirements and posses a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Report and pass a D.O.T. physical.
• Communicate effectively and interact with persons of various backgrounds and experiences.
• Great customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to be consistently at work and on time.
• Possess strong organizational skills and able to establish priorities.
