• Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to write in legible, clear handwriting.

• Proficient in production to meet goals within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Handle donation intake, presort and price merchandise.
• Welcome donors promptly and show appreciation.
• Assist in unloading donations and provide receipts.
• Maintain a positive attitude contributing to the mission.
• Keep reception, presort and processing areas clean and organized.
• Maintain a clean and organized personal processing station.
• Follow employee policies and Mel Trotter’s mission statements.
• Research merchandise to maximize value with guidance from the Processing Manager.
• Communicate with the Processing Manager, processing staff and donors daily.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure a healthy work environment.
• Aim to meet daily and weekly production goals (35 pieces per hour).
• Produce quick and accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to policies on donated items, including pricing guides.
• Use the donation receiving script to convey appreciation, story, and message.
• Perform opening/closing procedures per company guidelines.
