Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Production Assistant / Driver. This full-time role operates a DOT-regulated box truck to collect and transport donated goods, supporting our ARC's mission.

Duty includes warehouse tasks, donor interaction, and safe driving in accordance with DOT and OSHA standards. The position requires a high school diploma, at least two years of licensed driving, a clean MVR, a DOT-med card, and the ability to lift up to 50–100

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid state driver’s license (Kansas or Missouri) with a clean MVR.
• DOT-compliant license for operating a box truck.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Med Card) required.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate a DOT-regulated box truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Safely load and unload donations ensuring item integrity.
• Follow routes and schedules using dispatch tools.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and supervisors.
• Support program beneficiaries through guiding and mentoring.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; report safety concerns.
