Job summary

Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West is seeking a Donations Ambassador to warmly greet donors, receive donated items, and create an outstanding donor experience. This entry role offers a path into the nonprofit sector while supporting the organization’s mission.

The position requires a high school graduate, a valid CDL Class D when applicable, and the ability to operate trucks 16’–26’. You will help with donation intake, warehouse upkeep, and frontline customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations pertaining to vehicle operation and donations.
• Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class D) with the ability to operate 16’–26’ straight trucks when needed.
• Coordinate donation pickups according to schedules.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety.
• Keep the storefront area neat and organized.
• Evaluate items for donation per organization standards.
• Uphold a safe driving record at all times.
• Represent Habitat for Humanity as a positive ambassador.
• Provide excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Greet customers and donors in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner
• Maintain full compliance with all applicable DOT, DMV and FMCSA regulations pertaining to operation of commercial motor vehicles
• Possess a current, valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class D), with the experience and skills necessary to drive, maneuver and safely operate any 16’ to 26’ straight truck
• Ensure all donations of merchandise are picked up as per established schedules
• Ensure general housekeeping and safety in the warehouse
• Ensure the front of the store is kept in a safe, neat, and organized manner
• Evaluate acceptable items for donation, according to organization’s standards
• Maintain strict adherence to the organization’s policy regarding a safe driving record at all times
• Represent Habitat for Humanity as a positive and professional ambassador at all times
• Maintain excellent customer service and teamwork skills
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Experience Requirements

• High School Graduate/GED
• One year of relevant experience (preferred)

Special Position Requirements

• Ability to be insured by HFHSTW’s automobile insurance carrier
• Valid Driver’s License
• Possess a current valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class D) with the experience and skills necessary to drive, maneuver and safely operate any 16’ to 26’ straight truck
