Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Sorter/Donation Processor at our Chico, CA location. The role involves preparing donations for retail sale or salvage, following Salvation Army policies and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized processing area.

Responsibilities include sorting donations, loading items for trucks, and adhering to safety policies. Candidates should be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and completing required safety training; GED or HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements include a HS diploma or GED with optional related experience.
• Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by supervisor.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 75 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedure for sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for sale.
• Keep donation area clean and free of debris.
• Sort donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items.
• Load donations for truck delivery.
• Adhere to all safety policies for loading/unloading trucks.
• Follow accident and injury reporting procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving and processing area.
• Determine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageable.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct Supervisor.
