Job summary

Goodwill invites applications for a Donation Services Truck Driver Helper in Phoenix. The role supports the Donation Services team, assisting with residential and business donations, while working alongside the Donation Services Driver to load, unload, and transport donations.

You will engage in neighborhood outreach, drive safety-conscious operations, and help with community drives and trailer pod deliveries, ensuring a courteous donor experience and adherence to all safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent work experience.
• 6 months customer service experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to be trained and take direction.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and clean MVR.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.

Responsibilities

• Assist Donation Services Driver with residential and business pickups.
• Safely load, unload, move, and organize donated goods in the truck and designated areas.
• Assist with securing donated goods and ensure loads are transported safely.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to donors.
• Follow procedures for handling donated goods and protecting donor property.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck and work area.
• Communicate with the driver and team about pickup locations and safety concerns.
• Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of community donation drives.
• Help unload and organize donation collection equipment and supplies.
• Receive, sort, move, and load donated goods per procedures.
• Interact professionally with community members and donors.
• Assist with door-to-door outreach following guidelines.
• Represent the organization professionally in neighborhoods.
• Assist with operating the company van to deliver and retrieve donation trailer pods.
• Inspect area for hazards before placing or retrieving a trailer pod.
• Follow procedures for connecting, disconnecting, moving, and positioning equipment.
