Lifebanc is the federally designated organ, eye, and tissue recovery organization serving 20 counties in Northeast Ohio. Position Description

This role involves facilitating tissue and eye donation processes by interacting with hospital personnel, coroners, and tissue processors, adhering to regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

1. Identify and evaluate all referrals for potential donations.
2. Collect and interpret medical and social history information from hospital staff, coroners, or investigators.
3. Triages referral calls, contacting appropriate staff as needed.
4. Understand progress notes, doctor’s orders, lab results, and medication lists.
5. Communicate with hospitals, coroners, and funeral homes as required.
6. Provide referrals to the Donor Services Specialist III for family contact.
7. Report findings thoroughly and accurately to the Donation Services Coordinator III.
8. Maintain departmental quality guidelines and timely donor chart clearance.
9. Participate actively in the department and organization to support Lifebanc’s mission and values.

Work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for day shifts and 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for night shifts, including weekends and weekdays in a two-week cycle. After training, this position will be remote.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Health-related diploma or certificate preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in clinical health support roles preferred.
• CTBS certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
