Job summary

America’s Thrift Stores is seeking a Driver to join our Transportation department in Baton Rouge. You will drive a 24–26-foot box truck on residential routes, collect donations, and deliver excellent customer service while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires flexibility across days, adherence to DOT hours, and the ability to coordinate with a Driver Helper for loading and unloading. A valid license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have strong navigation skills.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including days from Monday through Sunday, while adhering to DOT regulated driving hours.
• Should be adaptable with daily schedules to ensure all donor and box routes are completed as planned.
• Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Louisiana Only - Louisiana Class D Chauffeur’s License required for operation of applicable company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily residential routes to collect clothing, small furniture, and other items from donors, donation boxes, and sites.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck for compliance with regulations.
• Safely navigates and operates a 24/26-foot box truck through residential streets and confined spaces.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to customers and donors.
• Maintains communication with the supervisor to accommodate changes in donor requests.
• Collaborates with the Driver Helper to safely load and unload materials.
• Transports materials to storage or work sites using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
• Sorts, stacks, and processes incoming donations by category following company standards.
