Job summary

Goodwill Industries of South-Central California is seeking a Material Handler I to receive donations, sort and display merchandise, and support store operations. You will work with management to meet goals and uphold Goodwill’s mission and values.

The role requires lifting up to 70 pounds, teamwork, and a commitment to confidentiality and safety. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to follow safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Strong work ethic with punctual attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Move, sort, and display merchandise per procedures and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Receive and process donated goods and issue receipts to donors.
• Perform housekeeping and keep donation areas clean and organized.
• Assist with pricing textiles, shoes, and furniture for resale.
• Support closing activities and ensure store operations run smoothly.
• Provide courteous customer service and maintain a positive image.
