Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver for local routes. This full-time role pays $20.00 per hour, with a 40-hour week, Monday through Saturday, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include driving pickups/deliveries, follow routes, ensure safety and compliance with DOT/OSHA, and provide excellent donor service while representing the organization professionally. Flexible shifts and on-the-job training are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years licensed driving experience.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently.
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials.
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Train and Certify New Production Assistants.
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army.
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully.
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors.
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher.
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code.
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively.
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring.
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard.
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately.

What You Need

Required

Education & Experience

• High School Degree or equivalent
• At least two years licensed driving experience
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check
